WHERE LANGUAGE TELLS ITS STORY

STUDY MODERN STANDARD ARABIC, DARIJA, AND TAMAZIGHT IN MOROCCO

At Hikayat Institute for Language and Society, we approach language as living, social, and storied. Our mission is rooted in the belief that language learning can be a pathway into deeper cultural understanding, critical inquiry, and ethical engagement. Whether studying Modern Standard Arabic, Moroccan Darija, or Tamazight, we invite learners to approach language not as isolated systems, but as living expressions of history, identity, and relation. Language learning is not only about speaking. It is about listening. It is about learning how stories move through words.

Place Based Learning and Critical Inquiry for Language Acquisition

We’re more than a language school. Hikayat is a space for exploring the stories carried within language. Our work is grounded in Morocco’s multilingual realities and shaped by the belief that language learning can foster deeper forms of cultural understanding, curiosity, and exchange. Our programs combine:

  • Intensive language instruction

  • Experiential and place-based education

  • Cultural immersion and homestays

  • Ethical and thoughtful travel

  • Community engagement and reflection

  • Small-group and personalized learning

We believe language learning is not only about communication, but about relationship with people, place, history, and everyday life. Our programs invite you to engage Morocco through conversation, movement, observation, and cultural immersion.
